C I PATOLOGIA E FISIOPATOLOGIA GENERALE E GENETICA MEDICA (Corso Integrato)
Italiano
Lingua di insegnamento | Italiano |
Contenuti | Eziologia generale. Patologia cellulare: infiammazione; degenerazione e necrosi; patologia della riproduzione e crescita cellulare. Oncologia. |
Testi di riferimento | Patologia generale -Moncharmont - Aloj - Ambesi Impiombato - AAVV Idelson - Gnocchi. |

Contents | General etiology. Cellular Pathology. inflammation; chronic degeneration and necrosis; cell division and cell growth. Oncology. The general principles of medical genetics and human molecular genetics. |

Course objectives | The learning goals of this integrated Course include the knowledge of exogenous and endogenous causes of diseases, including the genetic diseases. The mechanisms of disease, biological defense, reaction to cell and tissue damage, tissue responses, regeneration and repair, together with their principal alterations, with attention also to cell transformation and neoplasia will be extensively treated. The course’s aim is allow the students to learn about those aspects of cell pathology and of the alterations of the integrated functions of tissues, organs and systems, which may turn useful to them in the medical setting. Moreover, the Course will also focus on the contribution of genetic factors to disease pathogenesis. Acquiring such knowledge and expertise will allow the students to address complex professional issues with a critical attitude and with the ability to obtain and interpret autonomously relevant scientific information. |
Prerequisites | In order to attend the course proficiently, the students will need to have a well-established background in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy and Histology, Physiology, Immunology and Immunopathology, as specifically indicated by The Council of the Medicine and Surgery School. |
Teaching methods | Teaching techniques: lectures supported by presentation of slides in Power Point. |
Evaluation methods | The oral exam will be taken at the end of the first semester of the III year. Failure to pass the Medical Genetics exam will not allow the General Pathology and Pathophysiology examination to take place and vice versa. The praise will be proposed collegially for students who will demonstrate a knowledge beyond that required by the course. An elapsed test is also planned to evaluate the learning of the Students in the classroom. |
Other information | Attendance in class is necessary because the lessons are interactive. |
